Intermountain Health Receives One of the Nation’s Largest Gifts in Pediatric Care

LAS VEGAS - Intermountain Foundation announced today that Nevada's first stand-alone children's hospital will be named Intermountain Health Felicia and Ben Horowitz Children's Hospital in honor of a historic $150 million commitment.

Felicia Horowitz, president of the Horowitz Family Foundation and co-founder and president of The Paid Family Leave Collaborative, and her husband Ben Horowitz, co-founder and general partner of Andreessen Horowitz, provided the gift, which ranks among the largest donations ever made to pediatric care in the United States.

The new facility is designed to consolidate pediatric services that are currently spread across multiple locations, giving families in southern Nevada access to specialized care under one roof. Hospital leaders said the donation will accelerate construction and help attract top pediatric specialists to the region.

"Nevada has long needed a dedicated children's hospital, and this gift moves us significantly closer to that reality," said an Intermountain Foundation representative. The donation will support construction costs, advanced medical technology, and programs focused on family-centered care.

The hospital is expected to serve children from across Nevada and neighboring states, offering pediatric emergency services, surgery, oncology, and intensive care. Construction timelines and additional funding details were not immediately disclosed.

Community leaders praised the Horowitz family for directing attention and resources toward a gap in regional health care. The facility is scheduled to open in the coming years, with planning and design work already underway.
