AdventHealth, Intermountain Health plan to form Denver-area joint venture

AdventHealth, Intermountain Health plan to form Denver-area joint venture

Two major nonprofit health systems, AdventHealth and Intermountain Health, announced Tuesday that they plan to combine several of their Denver-area facilities into a new joint venture. The proposed partnership would bring together five AdventHealth hospitals, three Intermountain Health hospitals, and their affiliated outpatient sites under a single operating entity.

Under the terms of the deal, AdventHealth would serve as the majority owner and manage the day-to-day operations of the new organization. The move is designed to expand access to care and coordinate services across the region, though specific financial terms were not disclosed.

The joint venture is subject to regulatory approvals and is expected to close in the coming months. Both systems said the partnership will allow them to invest more heavily in technology, infrastructure, and clinical programs. Leaders from both organizations emphasized that the goal is to improve patient outcomes while reducing costs through shared resources.

The announcement comes as health systems across the country look for ways to scale up and compete in increasingly consolidated markets. By pooling their Denver-area assets, AdventHealth and Intermountain hope to create a stronger network that can better serve local communities.
