Baby boy healthy after being born on side of CT highway

A Connecticut couple welcomed their son into the world in an unexpected location: the shoulder of a busy highway. Carlo Corsini Doyle entered the world on the side of Route 2 in East Hartford, just moments before his parents, Archie and Samantha Doyle, could reach the hospital.

Samantha Doyle said the labor progressed much faster than anticipated. The couple was driving to the hospital when it became clear they would not make it in time. Archie pulled the car over, and with the help of a 911 dispatcher, he delivered the baby right there on the side of the road. Emergency responders arrived shortly after and took over care.

Both mother and baby are reported to be healthy and doing well. The family has expressed gratitude to the dispatcher and the first responders who assisted. Carlo's middle name, Corsini, is a family name on his father's side. The Doyles say they now have a memorable story to tell their son when he grows up.
